will launch a national recruitment campaign for its next chief executive officer with Adrian Watts taking on a new role at the organisation鈥檚 national office.

After four years in the role, Watts is set to finish as CEO on 12 July 2024 and move to a role at St John Ambulance Australia.

St John Ambulance ACT Board Chair James Goodwin acknowledged the contribution of Watts to the organisation and thanked him for his dedication in serving the ACT community.

鈥淎drian鈥檚 leadership and strategic vision has significantly contributed to the advancement of St John Ambulance ACT during his time as CEO,鈥� Goodwin said.

鈥淗is achievements include leading our community outreach program, CBR NightCrew, which provides a safe space for young people in distress in Canberra鈥檚 CBD.

鈥淎drian was involved in the appointment and support of the 2022 Senior Australian of the Year, our own Val Dempsey, and has been driving the campaign for defibrillators to be provided in all government buildings, depots and Canberra鈥檚 150 schools.

鈥淗e also led our transition to a company by limited guarantee, and launched our new website and SJx training programs to support our community engagement and service delivery.

鈥淗is new role at the national office will allow him to extend his expertise to benefit the entire organisation,鈥� Goodwin said.

St John Ambulance ACT will now begin a national recruitment process for a new CEO and has engaged Cantlie Executive Recruitment.
