PowerHealth secures $30m contract in Saudi Arabia

鈥檚 patient-level costing system PowerPerformance Manager (PPM) has commenced national rollout across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, aiming to deliver services to 291 hospitals.

Awarded the contract ahead of several high-profile multinational companies, PowerHealth will establish its Middle East head office in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and look to expand to the rest of the region through other national contracts.

The project is part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia鈥檚 , in which the health sector is undergoing major health sector reforms aimed at delivering substantial improvements in quality, efficiency and safety. The initiatives aim to ensure sustainable financing, appropriate access and continuous improvement of the quality of services to the citizens and residents of the Kingdom.

PowerHealth Managing Director Patrick Power said, 鈥淭his procurement process was incredibly thorough, and one of the best procurement processes we have ever participated in. It consisted of three stages over a number of years, which resulted in a clear definition of the requirements that vendors had to meet.

鈥淚 believe what differentiated us from our competitors was not only our expert team and market-leading costing application, but our demonstrated ability to deliver large-scale national implementations around the world. This will be our 18th national or statewide successful deployment.

鈥淧owerHealth is very proud to be a part of this exceptional project, to be rolled out over 28 months,鈥 Power said.

The agreement follows on from PowerHealth鈥檚 international success in 2017, where it was awarded a $44 million contract by the Quebec Government to deliver patient-level costing across all acute, subacute, mental health and primary care patients. The project was successfully completed in May 2020, in large part due to the dedication of the Quebec Ministry of Health and the hospital establishments, who worked tirelessly with a dedicated PowerHealth Quebec team.

Power repeated the sentiment which he shared in 2017 when PowerHealth won the Quebec contract, noting that it was evidence of the capacity of South Australian companies to achieve 鈥渨orld鈥檚 best practice鈥 and make it on a global scale.

鈥淲e are celebrating PowerHealth鈥檚 25th anniversary this year and to be awarded such a prestigious contract certainly is an honour and a privilege that helps mark this very special year,鈥 Power said.
