Long-time ADHA board member named Chair

The Australian Digital Health Agency (the Agency) has appointed Lyn McGrath as the Agency鈥檚 new board Chair, with members of the Agency expressing gratitude for outgoing chair Dr Elizabeth Deveny.

McGrath聽brings over 30 years of expertise in complex and regulated sectors, including health and financial services, and has served as a non-executive member of the Agency鈥檚 board for over seven years and as the Chair of the Agency鈥檚 Audit and Risk Committee.

鈥淚t鈥檚 with great enthusiasm that I take up the role of Chair of the Agency Board. I look forward to continuing to advance the national digital health agenda and building on the momentum that has already been achieved under Dr Deveny鈥檚 leadership,鈥 MGrath said.

鈥淭he leadership and vision of Ms McGrath will ensure the Agency can deliver the seamlessly connected and person-centred system that health consumers are expecting,鈥 said Deveny welcoming the new Chair.

Agency CEO Amanda Cattermole PSM appreciated the outgoing Chair鈥檚 contribution. 鈥淎s a board member since the Agency鈥檚 inception, including almost five of those as Chair, Dr Deveny led the Agency through a transformative journey which included providing better access for all Australians to their health information through My Health Record, making electronic prescriptions available across the country, significant innovation during the COVID-19 pandemic and the new my health app. Dr Deveny鈥檚 leadership and contribution will leave an ongoing legacy for Australia鈥檚 digital health agenda.鈥

McGrath鈥檚 three-year appointment as the Chair of the Australian Digital Health Agency Board takes effect on 29 September 2023.
