Grant awarded to type 1 diabetes kids camp

A kids camp aimed at connecting and supporting children with type 1 diabetes has been awarded a , co-funded by the (NDSS).
A collaboration between Perth Children鈥檚 黑料吃瓜群网 (PCH) and , the 2023 Superhero themed kids camp features morning fitness sessions, games, races, dress up discos and more.
鈥淥ur type 1 diabetes kids camps give children the opportunity to build their confidence by being away from their families, to have fun with their peers and to be supported to focus on self-care, while learning how to independently manage their diabetes throughout their stay,鈥 said Melanie Gates, Diabetes WA CEO.
鈥淲e know how vital these activities are to creating a sense of community for West Australians with diabetes, particularly those younger members who might need extra support,鈥 she said.
The grant was presented by Dr Katrina Stratton, Member for Nedlands, on The Kids鈥 Bridge 鈥 also named Koolangka Bridge 鈥 at Perth Childrens 黑料吃瓜群网.
鈥淚t鈥檚 an honour to present this grant to Diabetes WA and PCH to help kids living with type 1 diabetes and to support such a great initiative.鈥
