Free live webinar to support clinical leaders

Clinical leaders are encouraged to attend a free live webinar 鈥 鈥 to access support for their mental and physical wellbeing and their teams during the COVID-19 pandemic. The webinar from the is one in a series of free educational webinars.

Presented by Cognitive Institute Medical Director Dr Mark O鈥橞rien and Senior Medical Educator Dr Lynne McKinlay on 20 and 21 May 2020, the webinar will provide clinical leaders in Australia, New Zealand and Asia with the skills needed to care for the people they lead, while sustaining high performance during a period of significant risk.

The COVID-19 pandemic has increased the pressure and stress that healthcare professionals are under, with psychological distress and threats to mental health observed in clinicians globally.

鈥淭he COVID-19 pandemic has placed enormous strains on clinical leaders as they struggle with new ways of working 鈥 often while battling with constraints on time, personnel and resources,鈥 Cognitive Institute Managing Director Matthew O鈥橞rien said.

鈥淲e believe it is critical to support all clinical leaders to take decisive and significant action to ensure their own physical and mental wellbeing and support and sustain their team in this time of crisis.

鈥淏ased on challenges we鈥檝e been hearing from clinical leaders, we鈥檝e developed strategies to assist leaders care for the people they lead during this unprecedented time. I encourage all clinical leaders to take an hour out of their day to focus on this important topic.鈥

The webinar will present a practical briefing and debriefing tool, RAPIDCheck 鈥 a five-step model leaders can use to ensure staff are aware of, understand and are coping with the rapid changes around them.

Feedback from almost 5000 clinicians across 11 countries who attended the Cognitive Institute鈥檚 self-care webinar has been overwhelming. Over 90% of respondents rated the webinar excellent and relevant to their work, describing it as practical and the best webinar they have attended.
