Cultural safety training survey closes soon

The (the Commission) has developed a short to gain an understanding of the type and level of cultural safety training currently being undertaken by health service organisations.
The Commission is committed to ongoing and evolving culturally safe practices, which are developed in consultation with, and determined by, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
The define six actions that specifically meet the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. One of the six actions, Action 1.21, states: “The health service organisation has strategies to improve the cultural awareness and cultural competency of the workforce to meet the needs of its Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients.”
The Commission is calling on feedback to assist in the development of resources to strengthen cultural safety training and support services in implementing Action 1.21.
