ConvaTec welcomes new GM

With over two decades of senior leadership expertise in the healthcare industry, Karen O鈥機onnor has been appointed as the new General Manager for ConvaTec in Australia and New Zealand.

Highly experienced with strong strategic and management skills, O鈥機onnor has had a prominent and successful career with leading global healthcare companies including Boston Scientific, Physio-Control (now Stryker) and Johnson & Johnson.

鈥淚鈥檓 delighted to be joining ConvaTec and looking forward to working with the teams both in Australia and New Zealand to ensure ConvaTec remains an innovative and leading player in stoma care, wound therapeutics, continence and critical care,鈥 explained O鈥機onnor.

鈥淭hese are exciting times for ConvaTec as we鈥檙e going against the grain and investing heavily in people and projects to deliver even better results for the patients they touch.

鈥淚鈥檓 passionate about inspiring and empowering both individuals and teams to embrace and exceed their goals and am looking forward to doing this at ConvaTec.鈥

O鈥機onnor is moving to ConvaTec from Boston Scientific, where, over two years, she grew the Endoscopy Business Unit. Prior to that she was Country Manager, ANZ, for Physio-Control (Stryker), a leader in the development, manufacture and sale of defibrillators, monitors and emergency medical response products. She began and grew her career with Johnson & Johnson across a number of franchises before becoming the National Sales Director for the Advanced Sterilization Products, Infection Control and Wound Care business.

In addition to health care, O鈥機onnor has worked in strategic leadership with Deloitte and holds a Masters of Business Administration and Masters of Management.
