SHPA creates new resources and publishing opportunities

The Society of 黑料吃瓜群网 Pharmacists of Australia (SHPA) has introduced a new category to its flagship journal to include a suite of resources and publishing opportunities for residents, technicians and early-career pharmacists.

The new 鈥楨merging Insights鈥 article category of the (JPPR) is now accepting submissions. A new 鈥樷 information hub is live on the SHPA website, pooling information on JPPR for emerging researchers, non-peer reviewed publishing and expert advice by elected pharmacy research leaders from the membership.

SHPA Vice President Dr Kate O鈥橦ara said the broadening of publishing opportunities and supports meets growing demand from specialty pharmacists and technicians.

鈥淎s pharmacy roles diversify and increase in complexity, inside and outside of our hospitals, there are more opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation.

鈥淎cademic publication is integral to building the evidence base for specialisation and team-based care, enabling the broadening of practice scope and improved medication safety in Australian health care.

鈥淚t鈥檚 important to extend publishing accessibility to Australia鈥檚 pre-eminent pharmacy journal while maintaining its academic rigour, which has seen the average citations per paper in the two years after publication skyrocket from five in 2021 to 30 last year.

鈥淭o help more residents and early-career pharmacists make their mark, we鈥檙e proud to platform the fantastic Research Toolkit series, an initiative of our Research Leadership Committee, sharing their collective insights and experience to help emerging researchers build a solid basis for conducting and publishing research.鈥

Chief Executive Kristin Michaels said SHPA is the publishing partner for pharmacists and technicians shaping practice.
