Digital version of Australian Injectable Drugs Handbook 7th Edition now available

The Australian Injectable Drugs Handbook (AIDH) 7th Edition is now available, updated and digital, for healthcare professionals administering injectable drugs to patients.

The edition has been enhanced to include:

  • 450 injectable medicines, with all entries fully revised, including, 65 antineoplastic medicines, 23 new monographs and five antivenoms;
  • an increased focus on warnings and patient monitoring; and
  • expanded content on extravasation, intravenous fluids and sample infusion-rate calculations.

The Society of ϳԹȺ Pharmacists of Australia developed this edition in response to feedback received from nurses and pharmacists. It is said to integrate seamlessly with institutional library systems and off-site authentication platforms.

“We have designed a new layout for the monographs, listed antineoplastic monographs with other monographs alphabetically, making them easily identifiable and, in partnership with MedicalDirector, ensured that supporting material is now indexed and searchable, creating a more practical resource that can be used every day,” said SHPA Chief Executive Kristin Michaels.

Institutional subscriptions to the AIDH 7th Edition are available by contacting MedicalDirector on 1800 622678 or knowledge@medicaldirector.com.
