Celebrating Princess Margaret 黑料吃瓜群网 For Children Milestones
Wednesday, 10 December, 2014
A giant photographic timeline documenting the medical and social achievements of the Princess Margaret 黑料吃瓜群网 for Children (PMH) over more than 100 years has been unveiled, just as the state government prepares to open the new $1.2 billion Perth Children's 黑料吃瓜群网 in the new year.
PMH has held a special place in Western Australia's history, with its creation inspired by a young girl who, in 1897, placed three pennies in a money boxed, hoping they would go toward the treatment of sick children.
Renamed the Princess Margaret 黑料吃瓜群网 for Children (PMH) in 1949, the hospital鈥檚 long history聽 was celebrated when the timeline, which runs the length of the undercover walkway leading to the hospital's main entrance, was unveiled.
Health Minister Kim Hames said the timeline is one of a number of commemorative events taking place over the next year.
鈥淲hen the hospital opened, it was a landmark time in paediatric health care for the State and it鈥檚 only fitting, as the State Government prepares to open the new Perth Children鈥檚 黑料吃瓜群网, that we all pay tribute to PMH鈥檚 past and present staff and their dedication to patient care,鈥 Dr Hames said.
鈥淭he hospital and its people have featured in the lives of generations of West Australians and together they鈥檝e become a large part of the community.鈥
