Veolia has recently been collecting, transporting and treating clinical waste streams generated at the COVID-19 testing site at Melbourne Showgrounds.

This included the installation of 55 clinical waste bins on site, with all waste being transported to Veolia鈥檚 specialist Corio Medical Waste Facility where it is safely treated.

The bins are located in a secure environment at Melbourne Showground, and all Veolia employees working on site wear appropriate PPE which includes masks, coveralls, gloves and safety glasses. Bin handles are routinely sprayed with disinfectant upon collection.

The Veolia team is trained in transporting Prescribed Industrial Waste, and also adheres to Veolia鈥檚 Safe Work Instructions.

All bins are weighed before being transported and are tracked until they reach Corio, where the waste is treated on the same day.
