Fiona Stanley ϳԹȺ Emergency Department Opens Today

The $2 million Fiona Stanley ϳԹȺ in Western Australia will open it's emergency department doors this morning (3 February).
At the same time, Fremantle ϳԹȺ emergency department will close.
The opening of the emergency department marks the third and largest phase of, which also includes the opening of acute services including paediatrics, coronary care, mental health and cancer services.
Premier Colin Barnettsaid months of planning between the Department of Health, WA Police, Department of Fire and Emergency Services, St John Ambulance and Main Roads Western Australia, have gone into this logistical exercise.
“All that hard work is paying off with Fiona Stanley ϳԹȺ now almost fully operational, which is itself a milestone in the delivery of the best possible health care in the best possible facilities this State has to offer,” Premier Barnett said.
Health Minister Kim Hames said staff at the emergency department at Fiona Stanley ϳԹȺ would see about 95,000 patients a year.
“The emergency department has an innovative layout with separate entrances for children and adults, which means patients have access to specialised trauma care,” Dr Hames said.
