Queensland and Victoria have announced their finalists in the 2015 Australian of the Year Awards, with health professionals, lobbyists and philanthropists well represented.
The Victorian听Australian of the Year 2015 finalists involved in health include 听Senior Australian of the Year nominees听Professor Samuel Berkovic AC - Neurologist,听Professor Ruth Bishop AO - Microbiologist,听Professor Terry Speed - Bioinformatician听and听Boris Struk - Muscular Dystrophy campaigner. and Victorian Local Here Louise Davidson who is a听breast cancer fundraiser.
From Queensland, philanthropists Clive Berghofer OAM is a finalists int he Senior Australia of the Year awards.
These听remarkable Australians听will听join recipients from all other States and Territories as finalists for the National Awards, which will be held in Canberra on 25 January 2015.
National Australia Day Council CEO, Mr Jeremy Lasek, said听137 great Australians are being recognised as State and Territory finalists in the 2015 Australian of the Year Awards.
