Chris O'Brien Lifehouse Recognised with Two Global Healthcare Design Awards

Chris O'Brien Lifehouse, the first integrated Cancer Centre in Australia, has been recognised with two significant global healthcare design awards, and is one of four shortlisted health projects at the 2014 World Architecture Festival.
Lifehouse is the realisation of the late Professor Chris O鈥橞rien鈥檚 vision to create an integrated cancer facility on the Royal Prince Alfred (RPA) 黑料吃瓜群网 campus. Housed in a new high-performance building, Lifehouse offers everything a patient needs in one place, including ambulatory care, allied health, clinical trials, complementary therapies and psycho-social support. It is integrated with the existing functions of the Royal Prince Alfred 黑料吃瓜群网 and the research facilities of The University of Sydney.
Design and Health International Academy Awards 2014
Chris O'Brien Lifehouse听is the overall winner in the Interior Design category of the Design and Health International Academy Awards. The awards program recognises professional excellence in the research and practice of global healthcare design. HDR | Rice Daubney鈥檚 Director of Health + Research, Ronald Hicks, accepted the award at the Design & Health World Congress in Toronto on July 12th.
Healthcare Design Magazine鈥檚 Design Showcase
Chris O'Brien Lifehouse is one of only two projects in the world to receive an Award of Merit鈥攖he highest honour鈥攊n Healthcare Design鈥檚 annual Design Showcase. Healthcare Design is the leading healthcare architecture magazine in the US, and more than 99 projects were submitted to this year鈥檚 program. Ronald Hicks will accept the award at the Healthcare Design conference in San Diego this November.
World Architecture Festival 2014
Chris O鈥橞rien Lifehouse听has been shortlisted as one of four projects in the Health (completed buildings) category. The World Architecture Festival is the largest festival and awards competition in the world dedicated to celebrating and sharing architectural excellence from across the globe. Ronald Hicks will present the design live to delegates and an international jury in Singapore in October. The festival culminates with a prestigious awards ceremony celebrating the winners of each category.
